Excellent work These scales look longer and larger then the Monarch butterfly scales (approx. 0.1 mm long )

Interesting series. My first thought was that it was an extreme close-up of feathers.
I like the last one best.

BTW, what is it? A moth?
(I don't know the first thing about butterflies/moths c.s.!)
