Series of shots of an interestingly marked and dented harlequin ladybird. Focus stacked using zerene stacker. I purposely focus stacked the foreground in some of the shots.
After taking two shot sequences the ladybird got fed up and started wandering around so I gave it a drop of honey which it promptly buried it's nose in. Brian V. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() __________________

They eat honey? Wow, the things you learn on the macro forum! Cool shots Brian.

Partial tothe second ont as well, I like the angle you used.
It looks like the Ladybird is struggling climbing up hill |

Thanks Remy and Rich for the comments
![]() Rich - two reasons for the angles- firstly I prefer bugs at a slight angle rather than horizontal but more practically as my flash angle is fairly fixed around 2pm against the lens, rotating the camera enables me to get a lower flash angle which helps reduce the flash reflection on these rather reflective subjects ![]() Brian V. |
