Macro Challenge #26 - GLASS

The theme for our twenty sixth Macro Challenge is GLASS.

We have a resident macro glass shooter who's been providing us all with lots of inspiration. Let's all follow Bob and shoot some glass!

This challenge will run throughout the month of November 2009.

You may submit your own original work shot during or before the challenge. I encourage everyone to get out and make some NEW photos for this challenge.

Please post your images in this thread along with any technical information you would like to share such as camera, lens, shutter speed, aperture, iso, lighting conditions, post processing, location, subject details, etc.

At the end of the month, we'll all award karma for outstanding work.

Thanks for commenting. By using a focusing slider rail I'm able to take 14 exposures.

I think we should just call this challenge the "Bob B" challenge. AMAZING work. Bob; how do you like the mp-e65 lens? I am seriously considering this for my new toy.

Thanks I love this lens and the challenge it presents. I use it exclusively on my light table using improvised lighting, focusing rail and homemade holders and props. However it does not focus out to infinity. Since you like to build things such as homemade light tables, you will enjoy building a miniature studio for this lens

How very true! It's the lens! My goal is to master this lens. The first year I commited myself to keeping this lens on the XSi for the entire year. At the end of the year I took inventory and saw that 90% of the photos taken were at 1x magnification. So I set a new goal for the second year , namely to take 90% at the difficult magnification of 5x. Fortunately glass keeps excellent detail when it fractures. So I've got 8 more months to go

all right you two - we may not be able to duplicate Bob's level of glass skill, but that is no excuse not to try to come up with your own glass style. Get off your butts and find some glass.

Not exactly the caliber posted here already, but I thought I would give a piece a cracked glass a try. I'm finding it very difficult to light without blowing out the highlights. Here's my first attempt.
