Thanks Madsnapper. Loee's statement is correct. The MP-E65 is a macro lens only and does not focus out to infinity. At 5x magnification at f2.8 the depth of field is only 0.048 mm! Therefore multiple images need to be taken using a focusing rail which keeps the camera steady while moving the camera forward which is how focus is achieved instead of turning a focus ring. I use a homemade lighting table. The Combine ZP freeware stacking program is used to stack the images.

I thank you for the complement. Here is another flower, an example ot the genus, Hemerocallis. Actually there are many examples of this flower that are more colorfull than the one shown here. The American Hemerocallis Society has registered more than sixty thousand cultivars of this flower.

I'll play!

The first three are colored glass bottles with a 50mm lens and a 25mm ex tube, shooting through the glass as the sun backlit them...

The last one is a drop of blue and yellow food coloring right after it lands in a crystal goblet of water...
