Found this autographa sp. moth the other day - one of the Y moths.

Early in the morning, took a while to get my eyes to do the 3D thing. Hardly ever do I see an interesting moth around my area, could be because I am just not looking I suppose. This one reminds me of one of the "packed" deerhair Caddis fly imitations that I tye for trout fishing. Great shots there Brian.

Incredible details, Brian. It looks more like a mammal than an insect in the last few shots.

Thanks bill

Was using my MPE-65/5d Mk2 combo from around 1:1 to 4:1. The shots are all focus stacks- mostly using zerene stacker, the latter ones quite extensive. I took some shots of the moth on the leaf as found, but then managed to cut off the leaf and place it on a sun chair for easier shooting. I even managed to gently coax it into a better shooting position. As always I put the leaf + moth back where I found it when finished.
