Default home made macro/fisheye

my shots aren't quite as glamorous as the rest in here, but i like what i can get with a home made lens.

i was less than an inch away, and haven't done any post production other than resizing.
all comments are welcome.

Ahh, I guessed it might have been a peephole lens you've used here - I bought one myself for this very purpose, but before I got around to making anything from it, I got hold of a real fisheye instead...
Good effort by the way!!

Pretty cool idea and a good result. Have you all tried to turn a regular camera lens around, and looking through it with your normal camera and lens? If you turn them around, they are magnifying glasses. They even make filter rings for this purpose. I got two really old Sears lenses (Pentax K1000 mount), and use them for this type of playing.

i haven't tried it, yet but i'd like too. do you know if the adaptors are readily available at camera stores, or are they more of a special order item?

That's an excellent result from a home made lens. If you can do that with a chisel, drill and handsaw, I can't wait to see what you can do with the right tools.

What some people do to turn the lens around is use a body cap and filter or a lens cap with a hole cut out in the middle and glued together. I have seen reversal rings for sale but I can't recall where at the moment. It really does work though.

Fuentes,

In answer to your question, I think they are called "Macro Reversing Rings". They are really two step rings, "glued" together. Here is one place I know of:
