Default Drip, Drip, Drip

Nikon D70 + SB800 + Tamron 90mm Macro

Bored tonight so I tried my hand at some high speed photography with the SB800 cranked right up.

I never realised just how hard it was to get focus when doing this sort of photography. I resorted to focusing on an object placed where the drips would fall but still struggled. Anyway, first efforts so I can now try again for better focus.

All converted to Greyscale, then Duotone, Resized and sharpened.

Tried out some coloured filters on the flash and got these nice pinky tones in the drips.

Exiting the hole.

Pano-drip

Comments welcome.

Thanks

Alex

Impressive. I prefer the B&W ones, especially the second one.

These are very nice.

I had a go at something similar not so long ago and had the same problems getting the right focus. Lots of photos needed to get a few decent results. I would probably have done better if I had had a fixed source for the drips, but I was using a hand-held pipette - which added a level of difficulty.

Still I have never been one to take the path of least resistance.

Example attached.

Thanks Al.

It is tricky to get focus and definately helped using the fixed drip source.
