Default Macro birds

When you're taking pics of newly hatched baby hummingbirds you better use your macro lens.

If you have one available, that is. I just had to take my baby in because I kept getting Err 01 messages, telling me I hac a connection problem and needed to clean the contacts. Well, cleaning didn't fix it, I hope Tokina can.

Any suggestions what I can use in the meantime?

Lovely capture Bea
First time I've seen a macro shot of a hummingbird baby
Is there any movement of the lens after it has latched onto the body (ie rotational play) ?

Hi Bea, what a neat photo!
Have you tried other lenses since? My autofocus showed an error once, and I discovered it was the connection in the battery. Did you clean those too?

Thank you so much I measured an old nest, same kind of hummer, and it is about 1.5 inches in diameter on the outside. I'm always amazed how small the eggs are and that a bird can actually form in there. Eggs are only the size of jelly beans (1cm)

Thank you, Brian, I'm happy I was able to show you something new

I think that compared to my other lenses there was a little play, but there always has been. Hopefully the Tokina guys can fix it because it is hard enough to get something in focus without having to worry about whether your lens will work on this shot or not.

Hey there Yup, I tried different lenses, no problem. Different cameras, same problem. Fortunately Tokina's service center just moved to HB, so I took the lens in yesterday. Will get it back in 2-3 weeks
