Great shots. The fly is really close. I can't do that with my camera. Here's a common house spider.

The caterpillars (Yannis) and the hungry spider (Lyle) kind of give me shivers, but they're all cool pics from both of you.

Looking at the ants and aphids made me forget how much I actually hate both of them! LOL (I have aphids on my plants and ants in my kitchen at the moment.)

Unfortunately the lighting on that spider is too hot. Jumpers are the most loveable and least dangerous of all spiders. They are great hunters and won't bite humans.

I'm not actually afraid of spiders, but I feel sorry for the moth. Watching insects feed on each other kind of grosses me out. There is one type that I see in my garden from time to time that is furry, has a flat, red back and black and white striped legs that I would dearly like to be able to photograph. They do jump, though, and they are rather small. Maybe when I finally get a macro lens I will try for one of those.

I am afraid of black widows, and if I uncover one in the garden I generally squash it with a big rock or whatever is at hand.

Thanks for the comment.
Well it is the only case that ants and aphids working together in harmony, (the aphids feeding some sweet nectar the ants, and the last protect the herd from other predators) so they leaving the humans alone .

Thanks Lyle.
Pretty small spider for this size moth hey?
I have some similar shots.
Here are some.

A crab spider with a poor bee.

The left one is crab spider with an ant and the right one is a jumping spider with a fly-head.Talking about 2 top hunters on a single leaf.

Enjoy cruel but balanced nature.

LOL! That's funny! I mean your comment, not your predicament.

And they bring in their friends and neighbors...and don't leave!

Great photos, everyone!

Her eis one of mine, taken a week ago (or something like that).
I hve no clue what it is, it was buzzing around in our backyard.
It looked like an chubby, very small, hairy bee, but with an very long straw/nose/tongue (whatever to call it).

It was taken with Nikon D300, Sigma 150mm macro lens + 3x Kenko tubes attached.

The image is heavily downscaled, not cropped.
