Default feather

This feather was somehow lodged on top of my shed. What I liked most were the background colours - blue sky and brickwork nicely out of focus. There was a touch of moire in the feather though - I guess that's not easy to remove.

I was using my 50-200mm + EX-25 extension tube for the first time. It's a great combo as you can just zoom in or out to get the macro depth just right.

I don't like the end of the 2x4 on the first one but the 2nd one is pretty good. Good job.

Cheers Mike. It's funny, the 2x4 was the bit that I liked in the first shot. I liked the texture it gave to the composition.

Thanks Lauriet. I get more impressed with it every time I use it. I've realised that for what I do I don't need more than 5 megapixels (yet), which is a relief for my wife and bank manager. However, good Zuiko lenses are not cheap, so they get your money one way or another .

Paul, the texture is ok, but the size overwhelms the feather. Had it been smaller... say a 2x2, it would have been better in my opinion. Maybe you could use the slim tool in Photoshop on it.

Mike
