I just received this lens to use with my Minolta 50mm lens and my Sony A100 camera. I was just messing around with it this afternoon for a few minutes and took this picture. I had just put the camera on Macro and I did not mess with Aperture settings at all. Maybe that would give me a bit more DoF, but I am not sure on that. Anyway, I just thought this was an interesting picture.

It is interesting, and I think you could make it even more interesting next time by playing around with your dof and your focus point. Looking forward to your next one.

Good start
![]() I wouldn't use the macro setting on the camera though it doesn't really do anything sensible, unlike on P&S cameras where it alters the focus distance. Try using aperture or shutter priority. Keep the shutter around 1/100th minimum and see what apertures you can get by altering the ISO. Wider than F6.3 for dreamy look or smaller than F8 for more DOF (provided there is enough light). brian V. |

Thanks Brian for the tips!! Do I remember you from over on the Canon forums? If you are the same, and I think you are, you have some incredible macro photography. I still have some wasp pictures saved that just blew me away!!
Thanks, Ron |
