Congratulations on your new lens Neoro! A great set of images to start with too.

Now...you must tell me how you get a lens like that by accident. I want to accidentally acquire one too!

:P

I ordered the Canon 180L Macro originally, but after 1 month and 16 days, still no receiving any news from Canon Malaysia, from my dealer, I decided to cancel the order and thought maybe I would get a new PC instead.

To my surprise, i gave another dealer a SMS to enquire about the Canon MP-E65 and I was shocked when the reply reads "Yes, New - Import Set RM3200 which is about USD970 (I know, its more expensive than USA, but this is like a GEM in Malaysia). So with my 180L canceled and my new PC mentally postponed, Off I went for the accidental purchase.

Thank god, I didn't have extra money, or else, the MT-24EX might have landed in the bag as well.

Lovely shots and congrats on the new lens
You'll find you need to open the aperture more than you are probably used to at higher mags to maintain good sharpness. This is because diffraction softening really kicks in due to the massive increase in apparent aperture as the lens extends.
eg
1:1 2:1 3:1 4:1 5:1

Wow - it's destiny that you should have it then!

Do you deal with the Canon concept shop in klcc? They used to give me a nice discount.

Sad to say, the stores outside sells a lot cheaper than the Concept Stores.

You'll have to let me know which of the outside shops are best. And if they agree to negotiate the prices.

Are there more than one Concept Store now? When I left, the one in klcc was fairly new.

Concepts stores , I frequent them to try out lenses , if I wasn't severely poisoned by other users during an outing.

We normally buy from forum supported shops, whereby the price is reasonable and the service is good. And for a fact cheaper a lot than concept stores.

My 180L that I initially wanted to get costs an additional 152USD at the concept stores compared to the shops i normally go to.
