Default Pselliopus Assassin

Here is a shot that I got a couple of weeks ago. It is an Pselliopus Assassin Bug and, well, I guess he just wasn't in the mood for ants that afternoon as he let it pass on by.

Cute bug. I have posted 25 assassin and their allies shots and still lack even one showing them actually eating. Young ones seem very skittish and run to the other side of a leaf so they may be dropping lunch when they see me. Adults seem placid and pose nicely but still have never eaten for my camera.

On-line references say these have a nasty bite. I have not had the experience but I do not pick them up either.

I love these guys! I got the chance to photograph a young one over the summer - SO cute.
