These coins are also rather worn.

I took this quite a while ago. Once I get unpacked and settled in maybe I can do a new one for the challenge.

This is a USA Silver Dollar Coin that my wife has had fashioned into a necklace (gold plated). I hope that it still qualifies as a coin re Micro Challenge #02.

I do coin photography for investors that spend maga dollars on coins. This is one area of photography I enjoy the most. The first photo is a group of dollar coins that I will be photographing later today for an investor. The biggest problem is learning how to photograph coins that are encapsulated, and getting the detail to standout. Proof coins (high mirror suface) are harder yet to photograph if the lighting is not done correctly. The Half dollar is a proof coin not photographed correctly. The last coin (which I've already post) also a proof coin, was photographed correctly. Sorry if I have taken this off track. If I have please remove my post.

absolutely not off track at all - thanks so much for your post. If you feel inclined, I am sure a lot of us would be very interested to hear about doing it right! Maybe even a whole thread about it where we could ask questions? I myself would love to try coaxial lighting, but I am not sure I will have time/energy to set it up in time for this challenge.

Years back I tried axial and came to the conclusion it was more trouble than it was worth. I just bought a new desk light at Staples for $25 and wanted to give it a try so you get the first experiments with it.
Staples.comŽ. that was easyŽ. enter any zip code - I removed the magnifying glass lens
