This series was a try to convert to B&W. I used RAW, left most of the settings as they were in camera, then saved the separate files - first color, then conversion with the plug-in provided by Rense here on Camel, then conversion with Channel Mixer in Photoshop with Monochrome output and last one was just a try with channel mixer.
Tell me what you think. Thanks for your time Regards __________________

All are pretty, especially when viewed by themselves. Interesting difference in the B&W versions. Certainly the FREE PhotoCamel plug-in from our member Rense is a fine image, but then so is the Channel Mixer one you did.
The differences in the darkness is a matter of preference. I am a moody person so tend to like the darker versions, but that isn't what some "clean" and "bright" people like. |

I like them all but I think I prefer #1 then #3.

My favorites are #1 and #4. I think you need color in an image like this.

The first one is fantastic. I've gone back and looked at it a few times now. The color, the detail, and the texture you've managed to capture are stunning. A reall winner!

flymoh,
I like the color version best. You could make the B/W conversion lighter (or darker to please Mr. Pickles) by using the scale and transsliders on my plugin. |

Thanks guys and girls for the nice comments. I agree with most of you - for this shot the color original works best.
