All great images. Wionderful lighting on all of them, although a bit more light from the front would have helped #1 alot. You can always adjust it later with Photoshop. It wouldn't have been so noticeable except that the lighting on all the others is superb. I agree that using fill flash would spoil it, however. Maybe bringing a small handheld reflector with you would help.

What lens were you using?

Sorry just seen all this now.
I used the sigma 105mm f2,8 Dx.
There was quite a bit of hard light when i took this.. a reflector could be an idea indeed

Hey,

Just been looking through your photo site - very impressive stuff.

I have the same Sigma macro lens that you have (albeit the Nikon flavour), and have had nothing like this kind of success photographing insects. How on earth do get close enough for long enough to get these shots?

My best effort so far (attached) pales in comparison to yours, so any tips welcome.
