Here is a shot I took tonight and my efforts to make it look like it would to the viewer. The image was taken by the light of the phosphorescent plaque plus a small amount of light spillage from a neighboring room.
The image has been to keep the color in the plaque itself but converted everything else to black and white. I left the noise as is from a 30-second exposure and decided against adding even more noise and some gaussian blur to simulate the noisy effect of the human visual channel under such dim light. The black and white conversion was done to simulate the human eye's blindness to red and exaggerated blue response under very dim light, with 0% red, 80% green, and 120% blue. I have also included small versions of the image after re-rendering in Digital Photo Professional to lighten it by 1-1/3 stops but before the remaining processing and a shot of the same scene taken under more conventional light. __________________
