You're in Dallas, right?
http://www.regal-plastics.com/index.html http://www.alliedplastic.org/contact_info.html When you call, ask about scratch resistant lexan (museum grade). It's more expensive but acrylic scatches very easily. You can get 4x8 sheets of fome-cor there too. Take a look at gator-foam... great for reflectors in the studio. If you're on white seamless you can get the reflective surface a lot cheaper by using gloss white paneling... $10 a sheet at Lowes. Once it's to scrated up, just buy another sheet. ![]() Chip |

Nice hint Chip, will have to look at Lowes or HD for some. ANy suggestion for a cheap method to get a black reflection? Have seen some beautiful glamour done using that effect. Looked like a pool of water. Lexan (or plexi) with black seamless under it is all I had been able to think of.

This is a great thread. I've wanted plexiglass for a long time. Does anyone know of good places to get it by mail-order? Or is this something one really should get locally?

Expense and storage. Those are indeed the main obstacles in my mind.

I did a search at Home Depot and Lowes websites and come up with nothing. I did find an interesting link though.

As for storage, I store my big flats vertically and use bungees to hold them in the stack... Sorry about the flare, I just pointed a light and shot it. ![]() Those are the foam insulation bookends in front, a 3/4"x4'x8' panel of cabinet ply and the white paneling facing it next to the wall. In between is all sorts of gator, plexi, fome-cor, a frosted glass shower door , scrim frames, etc.Chip |
