Default How's the lighting on these?

I'm new to PhotoCamel. Was an Art Potter/Photographer for 20yrs then took a corp. job when I started a new family. Now, my son is in the Air Force, we're not racing any more, so it's time to get back to the Arts through Photography.
Bought some White Lightnings so I can shoot Artist work for entry to National Art shows. This is a basic black setup and will work on a gray and white setup after I get this sorted out. Any help/suggestion would help..Thanks
GJ

From what I see, you certainly don't need suggestions on your lighting.

You're too kind...but there's always a different way of seeing things.

I guess I see the same way! These are excellently lit! I think another way might be different, but not necessarily better.

Allow yourself some credit! You done GOOD!

I have no suggestions either. These are remarkably well done through out. As a side observation I don't think I've ever seen a better use for bearings in my life. Someone is imaginative as well as artistic.

Regards
Steve

These pieces are made by Don Nibert, a great Raku potter. Here his web site if you want to see more. Altered Earth Raku
Thanks for the the nice feedback.

Your exposures and sharpness are both excellent. The first one with the red gel is super nice and I think you should use gels on some of the other shots in a similar way - but maybe a nice blue or other color. The Plexiglas is a nice touch but is overdone in a couple of them. I hope this helps you a little. Super job overall.

Working on other gels..they all have a liking for how much power you put to them..here's a pic of blue ...I know I need another 2 lights on this one ..back right 45deg to light the lid's inside and a 10deg grid on the base from the left...also I need to steam the felt background to get rid of the creases.
