Default About to buy some equipment- need advice

Ok ive finally got some spare cash to get my flash equipment ive been wanting, now that i have it- im caught in that battle on what stuff to buy. on a automotive forum im on, a lot of the guys there mix up the vivitar 285 and sunpak 383s. I did read somewhere that the vivitars can fry a camera? Also for a wireless setup ill be getting the cactus v2s system. And this is another part where i get confued hah.
-Main system is this- 4-Channel Wireless Flash Trigger V2s, includes 1 trigger and 1 receiver. and its about 32 bucks *without shipping and all that*
-Now since im going to have a total of 3 flashes, i need 2 more receivers correct? on the site im ordering the triggers from there are 2 dif. kinds. A v2 and a v2s, only diff the v2s has is its built with a trigger voltage lower than 12v- no idea what this means

Im really excited to finally get into this sort of thing, but now im nervous if what im buying will be fine, its all cheap stuff *price wise* but i havent heard anything bad from this. Just making sure im ordering the right stuff so when it gets here, im not missing or forgetting anything and i can start practicing.

The 285hv is perfectly safe with dslrs. I've used them with three different Canon models with no problems.

Not sure if this will make any difference for you, but the Sunpak 383's also swivel - I'm not sure if the Vivitars do.
