A lot of photogs have recommended these LumiQuest® Photographic Accessories & Flash Diffusers

I personally use the better bounce card the most

ABetterBounceCard.com

Hope that helps. There are a lot of DIY ideas out there.

I ordered a pair of these last week but I'm still awaiting delivery....

Portable Flash Diffuser Soft Box For Digital Camera NEW on eBay, also, Other Digital Camera Accs, Digital Camera Accessories, Photography (end time 07-Jun-08 09:15:03 BST)

There's a review of a similar sized softbox here....

Lastolite Micro Apollo 45 Review - PhotographyBLOG

I also got some funky foam to make BBCs as well. A softbox should be good when there is nothing to bounce off (outdoors or high or coloured ceiling/walls) and the BBC should be good when there is.

TMG Online Craft Shop | Foam | Craft Planet | Funky Foam Sheet 9x12 White

I also got a couple of these just for good measure, and to cover all the bases. These should be good for filling the room with light, without hotspots - handy for interiors, for example...

Bounce Flash Diffuser Dome for Canon 580EX 580EX II on eBay, also Flash Accessories, Flash Units Accessories, Film Camera Accessories, Photography (end time 10-Jun-08 16:08:28 BST)

I have the Lumiquest stuff, Sto-fen Omnibounce and the Apollo for my 550EX. I prefer the Apollo.

It works really good most times I use it for fill and I usually have someone holding it to one side of me. Here is a sample shot.

I also have the photoflex softbox and use it with a Nikon SB-800. It is one of the main lights I use depending on the job.

Here is a sample, shot with this softbox only.

I've got the same setup but I'm not impressed at the construction for the price. I could have paid a few extra bucks and picked up a Lastolite EZ-Box and bracket. THAT'S made for location work. What a difference in quality!
