Congrats on the quick sale, and enjoy the SB-800. There is a thread I started a long time ago comparing flash modifiers that may be interesting to you, once you get the new flash: Flash Modifiers - Again!. It doesn't show you "how to take a good pic with a modifier' but what each modifier does to the light.

In any case, all that a grip will do is add weight and as the mounting bracket makes the portrait controls impractical to use a grip would really add no value so best left off. EDIT : My off camera cord arrived today and there is no possibility to fit it with the grip as well and still retain the option to rotate the camera. __________________
