Underexposed the sunset, and lit the scene with unwarmed flash. No shutter dragging.

Anything over 1 and you need it if you have any "professional" looking equipment" - reflectors , seperate flash etc. I have 3 it was all in getting in touch with the park manager, which can be difficult depending on the park.

My $.02 on the color temp issue. The sunset shot involves two exposures. The background exposure is controlled by aperture & shutter speed, while the subject's exposure is controlled by flash plus some contribution from the ambient. If there's too great a differential between the exposure levels, you'll need to use a filter on the lens, or a gel on the strobe, or make selective adjustments in post processing. But if the delta is only a stop or so, the color temp issues goes away. Here's an example from one of my weddings.

heheh all the planing the MUA was late and the clouds rolled in 15 minutes before we shot (it was sunny all day). SO MEH mother nature got me. I will post some of the images later but no sunset :-(.
