Thinking of buying a 600 watt unit this week with battery pack, just wanted to see if anyone else has used them and are they any good.

They are OK, not great, not bad. And they don't seem to be very durable, which means they don't put up with a lot of heavy use very well.
We've got 3 of them, the best thing I can say about them is that they are light weight. They do a pretty much average job, but one thing you can't take away from them is that they are a very cheap way to get into Location work. |

I own three 300 watt JTL strobes with battery packs. I love that they are light weight and in my opinion work wonderful and the price is very good. I have them now for about a year and they have not let me down yet (knock on wood).

I use JTL but not the battery packs. They are cheap and for my needs perform well enough. With more experience and money I would up grade. But at the time it was a good choice. They still perform better than I do
![]() but I am working on that. |

Just a quick note about JTL. . .I haven't used any of their lights, but I've used one of their lightmeters (LM-6) for the past 5 years and never had a single problem with it. I think the quality of the meter is terrifc and if the lights are anywhere near it, it's pobably a good deal for the price.
