Default A silly question

If you don't have a big softbox for a full length, would/could you use a medium size one up and an umbrella down (or vise versa) to cover the whole person, and use a small SB for fill. If not, what would you do within this limitation.

Thanks

Large translucent to fire a flash through?

I personally tried 2 small softboxes 'stacked' but did not like the result at all.

Or fire the flash into a piece of white foamcore...or reflect of a white wall.
