Two buddies came by this afternoon after they had been working concrete. When I saw them, I could not resist. They seemed to have fun having their photos made. Man, I am just having way too much fun! ;~) Cheers, Bill P.

Number one and two nice ligthing. Number one over two, but the pose in two is better. Too funny that these concrete handlers had allowed you to take their pictures! You must be on good terms. I have a hard time getting anyone to pose!

These guys just did the concrete work here at our new home.
While we were building I took LOTS of photos of each stage of the building process. I gave each worker a 5x7 print (printed on my Epson 2200) I took of him doing his job. Sometimes when their wives/kids came I took photos of them and made prints to give them. As a result the workers and I got to be good buddies. I am an old retired guy and most of the workers are much younger. Nonetheless, we became buddies. The concrete guy wanted a CD of the images I had taken of him while here on the job. When he came to pick up the CD today I took one look and asked if he and his brother would model for me. I liked the fact that they looked like workmen, which they are. I gave them a CD of the images from today as well. Hey, I'm just an old guy having way too much fun! ;~) Cheers, Bill P. |

Hey, another Georgian. Too bad Hartwell is so far from Marietta.
I really like that background. I'm thinking of getting a light grey one and that would be perfect. Where did you get it and what would it be called so I can look for it. Thanks! |

Hi, Waple.... hope you got some snow shots today.... we only got rain. That 6x9 gray backdrop came from ebay seller 2dreammaker and cost me $1.76 + $13.49 shipping. It is a nice heavy poly canvas material. Check out 2dreammaker as I am sure they have something you can use and at a very reasonable price.
Sometime when you want to "escape" the ATL area come up and we can shoot together. I have a good buddy here who also shoots with me and we have lots of fun out with our cameras. Feel free to join us. Cheers, Bill P. |

Man, you're improving fast. You didn't do this but I thought that I'd mention it anyway. Never ever have a man tilt his head towards the front shoulder unless you want him to look feminine. If possible, put a slight tilt towards the back shoulder just to make sure that it's not leaning toward the front. You did the back shoulder tilt with the second photo. You can also short light mens faces in this lighting set up, although broad lighting on men is quite acceptable. Turn again more towards that front shoulder and don't forget that head tilt towards the back. Keep up the good work. I look forward to more of your progress.

Oh no.... you sank your boat! Sorry about that. We live on the lake and have a pontoon boat. Sadly the lake is so low now that we have the boat in dry storage as the boat slip is sitting on the ground.
Yes, that place has super prices on background material. Hope you have some luck. Do come up when you have a change. Cheers.... |

Thanks for the kind words, Tim... we got to know the workers here at our new home while it was being constructed. They all were used to seeing me with camera in hand, so it was no big deal to them. During the project I got what we thought were neat photos of them working. For me, photography is just lots of fun. Sure glad I don't have to earn a living with my camera though. Cheers, Bill P.
