Flash Diffuser

I have a shoot tomorrow but no difuser for my flash. Will a piece of white sheet work?

Here are plans from Chuck Gardner's site for a DIY diffuser that works great! Scroll on down for the foam one (I used glue).

I've used wax paper, tissue paper and even ziploc bags as diffusers in the past. It might look low-rent but does a fairly decent job. I ultimately purchased a Gary Fong Lightsphere to shoot a wedding this past summer and while it did a good job, I don't feel it is worth the money.
