s there a special trick to get these working?
I've just received my pocket wizard plus 2's from B&H Photo and I am able to trigger my 580's fine, (still can't do the studio strobes as i dont' have a a plug/adapter for the larger sized socket can't remember what size it is), the question is, how do it trigger the pocket wizard thats connected to my 580ex via the L358? I've got the L358 RT-32 transmitter and i've set the channel to channel 4 (which is where i've got my pocket wizards set to). Now when i press the exposure button, shouldn't it trigger the 580ex? I know the pocket wizards have different frequencies depending on where they are purchased, but all 3 pocket wizards i have and the rt-32 transmitter was purchased from bhphoto, would having purchased my L358 from hong kong have an effect on the triggering abilities? Any help would be greatly appreciated Maybe i've missed something, i'm going through the user manuals over and over and i can't find anything. __________________

First make sure the transmitter inside the L358 is working properly. You can tell by having your PW on and pressing the sync button on the L358 and watch the blinking light on the PW go solid. If the light never steadies then you need to make sure the L358 is in the proper mode. There are two sync strobe modes. The first is for cable synch. The second is for the transmitter. When you hold down the mode button on the L358 while turning the wheel you will switch modes. When you hit the transmitter mode you have to set the frequency (1-4). Make sure it is on 4 and it should work.
I have the 580exII and it is synch enabled. Meaning I can plug my PW directly to it with the supplied cables. I think you may need a shoe adapter connected to your 580ex and use the synch cable from it to plug into your PW. Paramount makes great ones of these. For your studio strobes you may need this adapter: Pocket-Wizard | PC Female to Miniphone Adapter | 804605 | B&H But verify the adapter size before purchase. I'm sure I may have missed something, but I think it may get you close. Trekker |

Yeah it does work, i think the problem lies on the fact that i purchased my light meter from hong kong and the pocket wizards from the US. I've just learned that even the light meters have different frequencies, going from a few other posts on other forums. US frequency is 344.0Mhz, everywhere else seems to be 433.62Mhz I'm solving this problem by ordering the 358 from Bhphot and try and sell my current light meter here in Aus. __________________
