If using a strobe, is it possible to get blue skies when the sun is high? Planning on using my AB1600 at as high a power, as low an iso and an apperture around F16-22 to get what I am after. From what I understand, if the light is powerful enough, you can get blue skies.
Am I correct in this? __________________

Douglas, go outside, setup your light and see what you get. Should take 10 minutes at most to find out.

I would. Its finding time lately. Between school and work (and school work), I seem to need to find a couple extra hours a day. Class runs from 6-11. I get out of work at 4, head to the gym and then a quick dinner before getting to class. |

No, but but a contributing factor was a light vignette (the flow from about mid page to top of page is supposed to show a light darkening and is obvious, but since the sky was directly overhead, it went from light blue to dark blue).
The exact EXIF is: Nikon D4, Sigma 50mm, single Nikon SB-80DX at full power, ISO 50, F/8 1/1,250th shutter speed. Bare flash about 12 feet back and camera left. So, the basic factors were a medium aperture, ISO 50 and a shutter speed of 1/1,250th, thanks to HyperSync and a big contributor as to why I wasn't at F/16 or so, but the sky was underexposed by about 1.5-2 stops (and the subject basically "fill-flashed back to proper exposure), that is why it is so rich, well, that along with the vignetting. __________________
