Default Re: RAW as a learning aid.

Thanks for the comments. What I meant by learning aid was learning the differences in the white balance settings. My goal is to get things right when I press the shutter, but sometimes I just don't know how a white balance setting with impact the final image. I'm sure this is a "practice makes perfect" kind of skill. I tend to learn better by seeing the differences rather than reading from a book. Again, thanks for the comments.

Henry,

It doesn't matter how you articulate yourself when it comes to RAW vs JPG in this forum because it is like a religion.. Everything is subject to experiences and or a belief in what is better using little or no facts in coming to this conclusion.

I am a raw advocate myself, but getting into a couple heated conversations and I am beginning to understand that this is just a preference to each photographer for what ever reason.

It is like watching a movie on VHS when you have an available Blu-Ray movie and player collecting dust.

That's a pretty funny comparison.

And someone arguing over this is like that person not liking cilantro because he says it tastes like soap, and then telling someone else he is wrong because he says it doesn't.
