Default Some results of my shoot at the Miss Slidell preliminary

Hi all,

Thanks go out to those who helped me with lighting questions I had for the shoot I did last Sunday. I've posted 5 shots (of hundreds I took!) for you to critique. I was pleasantly surprised at the results of some of the actions shots I got. They turned out pretty clear and sharp. I still had lighting issues, because I'm clearly a rookie at this stuff. Some of the photos were still obviously blown out in the white areas and some had this blue cast but nothing I can't deal with in PS. For the most part, I think they turned out okay, but I've still got a lot to learn. I was scared to death that none would turn out okay and a lot of people were depending on me for good photos! Please let me know how they look. I was shooting with my Rebel XT, with an on camera strobe. Just wish I had brought my bounce card I made with me. I probably could have used it. Or at least remembered to lower the flash head when I got other closeups! I guess it's all a learning experience, I m just glad I was able to get some half way decent shots. I used almost an entire 2 GB card! I did buy myself an extra 1 GB in case and my batteries in my flash lasted the entire time!
You guys on this forum are great! With your advice I was able to get rid of that awful yellow cast (even though I ended up with a blue one, it was still more pleasant to deal with than the yellow!)

Please go to the photo album, I've posted five shots, and you'll be able to tell they're mine. I don't think anyone else posts pageant pix! LOL
Debbie
