Default Homemade Snoot
A snoot is used to concentrate light in one place.. I thought of an affordable way to build a snoot, and here it is


Components:
  • One long tube of Pringles chips (cheese flavor)
  • Duct tape
  • Desk lamp

How:
  • Eat all the chips
  • Cut the tube using a can opener from one end
  • Use the duct tape to fix it on the desk lamp
  • Keep the semi-transparent on the other end to diffuse the light

Tadaaaaa...

The old style pringles lids were great for setting a custom WB. just hold it in front og the lens and shoot. The new ones are too clear though.

For another homemade snoot idea, just use ordinary aluminum foil. The nice thing about that is you can adjust the size of the hole, where the light is coming out of.* The pringles tube, the oatmeal cannister tube are all great ideas!

But, if you are experimenting and want to adjust the hole size "on the fly" try that.

It works quite well!

I've been using cine-foil to make a snoot when I need one, it's not bad... plus I can re-use it later to make an origami swan to keep leftover Chinese food in! :
