Default Sunrise at Crater lake

The lake was still partially frozen.

Beautiful Morrow! When was this taken, and how was the road up to the rim? I want to get up there while the snow is still nice.

The road on the south side is open to the rim. There is still plenty of snow. If you have snowshoes bring them, although they are not required. I was sinking about 2 feet in the snow in some places. The lake is a beautiful spot, try to get there early to get the sunrise on the east side of the lake.

Beautiful. Everytime I go to CL I get there mid-day. One of these times I'm going to have to stay at the lodge, or somewhere closer than Portland or Prineville ;->

I can't tell whether it is my LCD monitor or the compression, but I think there is a bit of digital distortion here and there at the edge of the water/shore and tops of the rim. Do you have a bigger version of this?

Very nicely done. I would love to go visit Crater Lake. I have seen so many awesome pictures from there!

Beautiful picture of a special place; one of the hallmark features of this lake is the deep deep cobalt blue color of the water, which you have captured along with the morning sunlight reflection.

I like this pano. But, it still looks too cold for me.
