Default Gold Town The Ghost Town Revisited!

Took some extra time to look around a bit before we left to try to find a special shot that would take advantage of the late light and that wonderful set/town! Here are a couple of my offerings and I hope they live up to some expectations!!

I think you did good on these. Tough lighting on that first one, but you did it. Darn photography is 2D- at first I thought that's cool, there's a little cactus growing out of the crack on rock on the left.

The lighting on the second is nice, and wish it was a closer on the third so I could see more detail of that ole mine car.

Would that be my left or your left?

These are great Ken. I love the warmth in the color of #2. You did a good job on all of them.

Very nice Ken. The first one I would be tempted to crop tighter and remove some of the brown from either side, but there's little details like the rope that as the photographer are just so hard cut out. I know I'm like that. I really like the second one, the rocks in the background are not overtly obvious and overbearing, but add so much feel and depth to the overall image. While I agree with Goofup that you could crop some more off the mining cart I don't think it's necessary . But look at his signature, that explains a lot, LOL .
(Actually thanks Goofup, I took that piece of advice from your signature back on phototakers, and it may me the most valuable advice I have taken for improving my photography, at least on the PP end).
Again Ken I really like this set, thanks.
Gary

First Things first!!!!Thank all of you for looking, commenting and being supportive!!!

I appreciated you advice and will try more of those later today. Right now I am waiting for my best friend from my HighSchool days who lives here in the Pheonix area. We are going out for a shot tooday and see what he can show Laycey and I of the mountains.

Anyway, there is the Rock Cart and tracks from #3. I redid it a little, isolating the cart against the mountains but still try to bracket the shot with some cactus and growth at the bottlom! Is this close to what you all were requesting? Please let me know!

PS: I am not happy with the sharpness and/or clearity of the first shots now that I view them again so thanks for not pining my ears back!

Ken, I think that edit really works! Looks like you might be stretching the pixels a bit to crop that far, but a little more contrast and a bit of additional sharpening will make it pop.

Thanks for the come back on this one. My friend just walked in the door with his wife and was ready to go so I did not complete my assignment! Very poor excuse on my part and one I am not proud of. I'll go back and play some more and see if I can make it presentable!

The only consolation I have is we found some absolutely beautiful country to photogragh and even a small stream or two. It was a wonderful day but now its bed time and time for this old back of mine to take a rest!

God Bless and thanks again!

Ken A. a.k.a. Dakota
