Like an oil rig, but it extracts gas (although it may extract oil as well - I'm no expert ). Gas in 'English English' is natural gas, not gasoline (which is called petrol here). A handy thing to know if you're travelling on these shores - saying 'fill her up with gas' may cause your tank to be filled with butane .
