Very nice composition and color Steve. At the back near the gazebo there is a bit of color washout in the trees. You might want to do a little selective contrast or color there. Well done!

There's not much that could make this shot better. The only thing for me would be to darken the background trees slightly because they're lighter than the rest and attract the eye away from the more interesting schene closer to the foreground. But that's a detail.

Nice shot Steve.
On scrolling down, I thought, what a beautifully composed shot.
Everything is in the right spot, your eye just wanders through it, not darting around.
Well thought out, beautifully composed.
Fair comments on darkening of the distant trees, may improve an already beautiful shot.
Good job.
Rick

Hi Steve, this is a very nice picture, you must be very happy with the result!

The foreground is very nice and you have a lot of natural framing (with the leaves, etc) going on. I have to agree with earlier comments about the trees in the central part of the pic being a bit washed out but that should be an easy fix. The only other nit pic is the white stick or twig in the left centre (I actually thought this was something on my monitor and tried to wipe it off). It is not a biggie, but cloning this out will make this shot just perfect!!

Whenever I pick my kit up and think about the kind of picture I would like to take I get a select few images in my minds eye. This pic is pretty close to one of those so I for one enjoyed looking at it a lot. Thank you for sharing.

Oh, it was nearly taken for granted, sorry, well done with all of the techs, great pic!

Thanks for your comments.

This shot was a HDR 5 shot,2 stops apart,as the dynamic range was well outside the camera's sensor.Above me and behind me was a dense covering of trees, looking out to a bright sky.
A slight adjustment with levels and curves in PS,a little a colour work in Lightroom, and sharpening.

Steve

An update to a few of the suggestions, also knocked the saturation of the foreground back a tad..

Nice framing with tree branches, really gives a nice tunnel look to this vertical.. nice DOF here, and exposure good for shooting out into the lighted area,, nice rocks , and strong with being wet.. super foreground.. its all here!

Steve, really nice work!! This really doesn't look like an HDR at all which is really hard to do with 5 exposures. You maintained the real feel of the photo which is very important IMO, but hard to do in a lot of cases!

I would try and give where the sky and branches meet a bit more selective contrast as Padre said, to help get rid of the very slightly washed out look it has. Minor detail as said above, but I think it would improve this already great photo

The composition is top notch and the reflection a huge bonus

Best,
Jay

Really good shot! The colour and tonal range is what make it and the fact you can't tell it's HDR is a real winner in my book!

I think I prefer the first version though. The second looks too processed and a few halos look like they are creeping in. Keep it natural and you won't go wrong with this shot!

It photo is framed nicely buy the foreground tree's and the ground plant debri. Great colour tones. However, the water reflection does not reflect the grey cloud colour which could inticate the clouds were touched up a little. But still an IMPRESSIVE SHOT.
cheers
