Alright I'm inspired! I'm going to try RAW again (hopefully with more patience this time).
As previously stated they all are beautiful, but #3 seals the deal for me! ![]() |

Thanks everyone!
And I don't know Padre, the jury is still out. I shoot a Maxxum and the Dimage RAW software isn't great. Slow and tedious process converting them. I need to read through HELP and see if there's a way to batch process them. I'd have to check and see if I couldn't get some of the same advantages by converting jpegs to 16 bit. Either way I have a lot of reading ahead of me. Thanks for stopping by. |

The last one is definitely creative. I like the in-image framing. The only thing I really don't like is the line running through it. I just assumed you didn't know it was there. Kind of like I have an interesting lightning shot with my husband's truck anntenae running through it. Bummer!

I just added that image to the post as a throw-away. To see if anyone liked or hated it. I'm still undecided. |

Very nice, and I like the continuous tones without any color banding around the sun..
As a personal preference, I like to to bring some of the details of the darker areas. With RAW that would be easy to extract.. Great first RAW conversion, nonetheless ![]() |

IMHO this one is 'overcooked' a little, while the first conversion you posted is a tad too dark for *my* appetite too. ...in between, where you can outline the silhouettes of the yard, but cannot truely see the details, would be 110% IMHO ![]() Nice shots & great conversions. IIRC, PhotoShop Elements RAW (w/ACR 4.1 although a little less options, 'dumbed down' from PSCS3) does Minolta MAXXUM RAW conversions (to 8bit JPG or 16bit TIFF) too... and is not thàt expensive... ...just an idea, *my* €0.02 worth... Kindest regards! Max@Home __________________
