Default Fields of Grain

Here are a couple of North Dakota fields. One is Winter Wheat and the other is Sun Flowers that haven't headed out yet.

Ken,
I had never heard the term ‘headed out’, but that certainly is what sunflowers do. Wish I could be there when this field ‘heads out.’ Thank you for the lesson and the lovely photos. I like the winter wheat as well. That is a sight I get to enjoy more often as the wheat fields of the Palouse are not far away.
Cheers,
Colby

Thanks Colby! "Headed Out or Heading Out" are farm terms used in reference to the final stages grain crops go through. The Seeds take on a growing spurt and grow to maturity and then in the case of Wheat, turn this beautiful golden Yellow. Of course, you can guess what Sun Flowers do!

I like the second one better than the first one. It's just more "clear" if that makes sense. (Hope you've got the dust spots fixed by now).

Going back again for one more cleaning! Was driving me crazy but found that one of those big spots was my Laptop Monitor screen .
