One of my favorite images, and a very hard one to capture. This one was shot at Julia Pfeiffer State Beach in Big Sur, CA. The dynamic range was pretty substantial, and every dust speck on my lens looked like an enourmous glob at f/22 and the sun shining almost straight in. After much filter and front-element polishing, I was finally able to get some satisfactory exposures. Here's one with an ND attached to blur the water. Enjoy!

A shot just mildly similar to that was one of the reasons I finally decided there was nothing for it but to get a digital. Here in Oregon we have what is supposed to be the largest natural sea cave in the world (or tallest maybe?) and I was trying to get a picture. All I had was 200 ISO film, there is no flash allowed (not that it would help) because it is a sea lion cave and they don't want to disturb the sea lions. Thankfully the sea lions are just essnetially large lumps of blubber and don't move all that much because I had to do a long exposure to be able to get anything and I still didn't like it. I plan to go back with my digital and see what I can do.
I really like the shot you got, very nice. Sara __________________
