Default An HDR attempt

After looking at Mark's recent shots I figured I would give it a try. I had a series of only 5 images to work with, but it seemed to create a pretty cool effect. It's not the greatest job, as there is halo's by the tree's and not much detail in the trees. Perhaps with more pictures to work with it may be easier. It almost seems like I could have gotten this effect with just levels and saturation however?

Jay, I don't know anything about HDR but I was thinking about the mechanics of how I'd do it and wondering the same thing. Why couldn't you make a new screen layer and a multiply or overlay layer and use those (at varying opacities and selections) to make the dynamic changes in your image? The only thing I could think of was detail in extreme darks and lights probably wouldn't be there.

btw, This is still a great shot.
