Default Swamp Fever

Winton Wetlands

Today instead of bicycle riding with the group I went to the nearby wetlands on my paddy malone.
To catch the golden hour I should have arrived earlier than 9:00AM by which time the ruthless sun was blazing.
At this time of year the wetlands is almost dry. With the E-3 and XZ-2 I set out to capture some of its haunting beauty.

"The restoration of the 8,750 hectare Winton Wetlands is a project of national scientific, cultural and environmental significance,
and will be the largest wetland restoration project in the southern hemisphere."

Looking at the base of the trees, images 1- 4, I'd say it's no more than knee deep, it's the mud that would swallow you up!

Images 5 - 6 taken at flood were deep enough for small sail boats but not for the Americas Cup.

Thanks ja.
