Thank you Bambers and Wayne! I was quite thrilled to see the reindeer like this, as well. Reindeer in our country don't have an easy access to the sea

Beyond the great photo I was quite intrigued with the patterns in the sand on the beach.

What a unique photo JJu! What draws them to the beach? Do they go after seaweed? I know the sheep on the remote islands around Great Britain will go down to the sea to eat seaweed for the minerals that are lacking in the vegetation on the islands.

Thank you Steve! There are some explanations to such behavior. Firstly, this time of the year the poor animals are being pested by innumerous flocks of flying insects: mosquitoes, horseflies, midgets and so on. Reindeer especially seeks refuge from this by finding open and windy space. Roads, treeless mountain tops, ocean shores... anything goes. Secondly, they need to relax too, don't they! It's nice and cool by the sea, although your theory about seaweed does sound quite plausible, too.

Neat shot! I was half expecting to see a beach full of people or birds. This is much better!
