Default Power Outage = Night Photography Opp

Well, we were lucky enough to have a power outage last evening that lasted a couple of hours. I took the opp'ty to get a couple of the full moon, and just goofing around with some 30 sec exposures of the sky in various directions. The full moon kinda blew them out a bit (can't have it both ways, I suppose...) but there were some interesting results. I didn't do much other than convert from RAW and resize these guys, but I think I over-sharpened the moon shot a step or two.

[Full Moon - 100-400mm]

[Aircraft Trail 10-22mm]

[Night Sky 10-22mm]

#2 and #3 are very nice. However I would classify the picture of the moon as a failure. It's overexposed and unsharp or blurred.

Good attempt at moon, I have heard the moon is either spot on or it's not! it dosn't really have a grey area! but I love your other two very nice...have not really considered aircraft trails before! nice one.

Thanks, all. I'd go out more to get night shots, but this season, the New Jersey State Bird (the mosquito) is out in force, and what skin the 'quitos don't lay a claim to, the gnats and strawberry flies do..
