Last fall I visited Las Vegas for the first time. I was dismayed at the total BROWN-NESS of everything around me! Then my friend brought me to see the Red Rock Canyon. My New England self was thrilled to finally see some color! Now I know this image breaks the Rule of Thirds, but no matter how I've cropped it, I keep going back to this version.
Your C&C are most welcomed. Jean PS: I can't seem to upload the photo either from my computer or my gallery so here is the link: Red Rock Canyon - Free online photo gallery at PhotoCamel.com __________________

I would attempt to ost process this by under exposing the sand by 2 stops and try and bring in some saturation in the grass/sand. The red rocks and nblue sky have come out rather well.

Debashis, I just got a chance to redo this image. Instead of underexposing, I went back to my original file and simply left what was there in the foreground. Also, I just learned how to adjust channels in curves. Green did not extend enough to the right, but now it does -- so saturation adjustments did not seem to be necessary.
Ken, Thanks for your kinds words. Before posting, I went back and brought the brightness down to -20 in the PS filter. You are making me look harder! Jean |
