Hello every one, first post for me. Just getting into photography heavier recently,love to shoot,learning as I go. Any helpful comments appreciated. Have a couple more however I just figured out how to get this one posted! This pic. was taken with a Kodak DX7590.

Technically, this looks pretty good. There are som fairly strong shadows, but it looks pretty even, with detail in most of the shadow areas, and no blown lights.
There are a lot of areas of color interest, with the red roofs and green foliage, the warm oranges of the building, and the blue sky. But, it's hard to tell what we should be looking at. Try taking a few step one side or the other, so that all the elements don't line up right in front of each other. At first, i thought about moving the camera to the right, as the stone wall, the anchor (?) and the building would form a rhythm across the image. Then, i realized the anchor was pointing up and left, and moving to the left a bit could make it point up at the tower, and form an interest triangle with the red of the roofs and the rusty posts. Also, moving would give a better idea of the structure of the building, by showing the shadows and highlights on the different planes. You're definitely on your way! Let's see some more. |
