Sunrise on Tangier Island
This is a recent shot of Tangier Island at sunrise. Tangier Island is in the upper, middle portion of the Chesapeake Bay in Virginia. The island is quite small and was originally settled in the 1600's by a family named Crockette. Crockette is still the dominant name on the island. Tangier was also the headquarters of the British fleet attacking both Washington DC and Baltimore during the War of 1812.
The primary industry is crabbing and fishing and the island refers to itself as the softshell crab capital of the world. The island is in a serious state of decline. I have not posted in quite some time. Any comments or criticisms are welcomed and encouraged. Palmettoray __________________

I like your composition, the way the pilings provide a leading line to the sun itself, and there is (for me) a sense of tranquility in looking at the image.
