This may be one of the cutest smiles I've ever seen on a kiddo. Well done, Fran.

Great shot, cute kid, and contagious smile. You can't help but grin when you see his expression. Great job controlling colors with that green hat and shirt. I'm impressed with the noise control. It is amazing what these cameras can do today. I was playing around with 6400 ISO at a night football game last night on my Canon T2i and I was impressed with the results after some noise treatment in post processing. Nice shot Fran, I envy your skills of getting just the right exposure...here is some K.

Thanks Lori. I managed to catch this in one of the brief instances where he wasn't moving.

Thanks Troy. Appreciate it. The biggest problem I have with ISO 6400 is forgetting to turn it back to 200 when I'm done. Thanks again.

What a cutie! Good looking IQ considering the ISO too. Next time without including the bottoms of his trainers?

What a great smile! He looks like he'd have so much fun with my 2 year old boy.

Athena beat me to it: the only thing that detracts is the bottoms of the shoes. I've heard that advice for kids photos, ideally you want shoes and socks off, because so often the pose ends up showing the bottoms of the feet. (On the flip side, my grandmother-in-law would be saying "holodny nozhke", "cold feet!" and would not rest until you put socks and house shoes back on to prevent the impending hypothermia.)

Yeah, I think the possible choices for that age are something like (1) moving, (2) not looking at the camera, (3) visibly unhappy, or (4) asleep, or some combination thereof.

I keep wondering if an airhorn would solve #2, but might incur #3 and is probably not healthy to begin with.

I love this photo! The kid is so cute!

I think JFKlein make a good point though, about taking off the shoes and socks off. That would have been so adorable.

He's really grown since we last saw him, Fran. Still adorable.
I recently had the same experience with forgetting to bring down the ISO after getting out of a dark building. You'd think having to crank up the shutter speed to 8000 to maintain proper exposure would clue me in. I really like how LR3 manages noise though.
