Default Our 4th of July

These were taken this past weekend at my parents' house. They live on a lake and we could see the firework show from their backyard. It was a beautiful, fun day! I know some of these are a bit "hot" but it was midday and I couldn't miss taking pics of the fun...

What a fun outing, Troy. Love that shot of your daughter with feet in the water. I don't want to assume that is mom with the boys, but I'm curious what catch they were looking at.

Your firework shots are fantastic, btw. What were your settings for those? I was too busy lighting them to take any pics.

Thank you Tom. We had a fun day. That is my wife and 2 boys in the water. They were finding small, smooth pebbles in the sand and collecting them. They did this for quite some time, I'm not sure who was having more fun, but I think it was my wife.

For the fireworks I used a tripod and remote shutter. I sat in my chair was able to enjoy the show with the family and clicked the remote when I felt there would be a good burst. My settings were: 8.0, 1/5 sec., 100 ISO at 28mm focal length so I could get the reflections in the water. This was my first real attempt at shooting fireworks so I was pleased. Here are some more...
