Kids and Family Challenge #10- Creative B/W - ENDED

Ok here it is.

Creative B/W is the theme. I use the word creative loosely. I say it in hopes that you all will think about the photo and what mood/ emotion you will try to portray instead of just randomly converting a photo to gray scale. Hope that came across right.

Please , no old photos for this one. We want people to actually get out shooting and come up with fresh ideas, images. Also please keep your exif data intact so we can all confirm it was shot during the challenge time frame.

This contest will run for a month this time. We know summer is right around the corner and with all the activities going on with the longer daylight hrs this should give everybody ample time to participate.

So there it is in a nut shell. Oh ya there could be surprise b/w guru guest judge to help out in the b/w department. So watch them conversions

Thanks for kicking off an awesome challenge, Shawn! I'm in full support of the requirement that photo for be made during the challenge period. We've kept it flexible as the Kids board was getting up to speed but it's now time to let go of the training wheel.

I'm looking forward to the entries!

Great timing for me - I've had this shot in my head for awhile now. It' begs for black and white. I've been watching a weird show about the American Dustbowl back in the 1930s. Clearly it's affected my creativity...

Matthew wasn't very keen to help me with this project, but once he was dressed and made up, he played the part quite well!

The mood and impression of this shot clearly calls for B&W. Nice details with the wardrobe and makeup - down to the dirty fingernails. Your lighting on the BG adds a dramatic separation. Very nice, Athena. And I like the new avatar and new quote.

Quick question. I upload my photos to flickr. When I post them on forums there is no exif data. Is there a way to fix that or can I just link to the photo on my flickr so everyone can go look at the exif data in flickr?
