Default Mother's Day photos

Happy Mother's day to the all of the camel moms!

One of the things my wife wanted to do today was get new pictures of the kids. We went to our Alma Mater on a beautiful brisk day in Central Illinois to Illinois State University. Of course the sun was at its harshest (we need to do a better job of picking a later or earlier time of day). These were some of the shots we got. I was pretty happy with most of them despite some harsh sun and some shadows. We did some selective coloring on a few of these with the rose for grandma pics for mother's day. Most important...my wife had a wonderful time. CC is welcome as always!

Wonderful series that I am sure your wife will cherish. The first shot with all three of your adorable children is my favorite of the group. The fourth shot with your daughter and her beautiful smile is a close second. All in all a nice way to spend mothers day. Well done.

Thank you Mike, we had a blast taking these! As they get older it gets a little easier...I just can't take too long or they start to batty!

Troy:
Cute shots of cute kids, MOm's gonna love them.
I'd be careful with future attempts with the dappled light though, as it can be even trickier than direct sun with all the shadows/bright spots.
THe photos where you found the shade, don't have these issues and I think are much better.
Nice job!

Very good, there seems to be a little focus issues in a few and I agree with Fran on the dappled light. I love that last one with little brother holding onto to big brother, that's just so cute to me. A great looking group you've got.

Nice job!
Thanks Fran...Thansk for the tips, I was struggling with the light quite often and the shots I didn't keep it was due to the light washing out some of the shots...the white shirts and very fair complexion skin didn't help. But I was happy with most of the shots. I did some selective coloring with a few of them (red rose in color with a black and white shot). It isn't my cup of tea but it is what my wife wanted to try...so I said "yes ma'am" and they actually looke nice!

Thank you for checking them out. I did have a few focus issuse...I'm impatient with my 50mm 1.8 lens sometimes and if I don't take my time on the focus I tend to get the slight focus issues. I'm getting better with it though. I'll hopefully upgrade the glass eventually.
